Met One, Inc. started in 1976 as a meteorological
monitoring system and laser particle counter manufacturer when a line of
cleanroom air monitors was introduced. Met-One quickly outgrew its facilities,
and in 1989 Met One Instruments, Inc. was formed to hone in on the quickly

Currently, MetOne provides air monitoring
equipment to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in their studies on
chemicals and gasses that can be harmful to human respiratory systems. Forty of
the Fifty-four EPA environmental testing sites use Met One particle
counter
instruments to measure particles up to 2.5 microns in size. Using these laser
air particle counters, the EPA has analyzed concentrations of harmful chemicals
such as nitrates, sulfates, and elemental and organic carbon, all of which have
shown to be harmful to the environment.
